Role Description
The Project Manager will play a central role in the Impact & Partnerships team, managing end-to-end delivery of impact media projects. Alongside this, you will contribute to fundraising from the international development community to support scaling of Civic Studios initiatives into alternative media spaces (for example, kids content, EdTech content, audio content, social media, etc.). The position requires strong project management, fundraising support, and stakeholder liaison skills. An understanding of climate change and/or climate communications is strongly preferred. This role will focus on:

  • Managing multiple media for social impact projects, several of which will carry a focus on climate action, with efficiency
  • Coordinating across internal teams and ensuring deliverables are met on time
  • Building and nurturing external partnerships with NGOs, funders, and other collaborators
  • Ensuring impact measurement is embedded in all projects
  • Supporting fundraising efforts with research, proposals, and donor engagement

The Project Manager will also be expected to represent Civic Studios externally and contribute to strengthening our position in the international development and media-for-impact sectors.

Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Delivery

  • Lead end-to-end project delivery, including project planning, execution, tracking, and closure
  • Develop and maintain project management systems/dashboards for tracking deliverables and deadlines
  • Work cross-functionally with creative, business, marketing, research, and admin teams to ensure alignment
  • Provide impact-oriented input into media projects, ensuring civic/social goals are integrated into content and campaigns
  • Ensure timely submission of funder deliverables, compliance reports, and other documentation

Research & Knowledge Sharing

  • Provide high quality research (primary and secondary research as relevant to the project) to support media creation and project outputs.
  • Stay updated on best practices in climate communications and impact storytelling
  • Provide insightful inputs in the form of behaviour change strategies to project teams to enhance the project’s impact

Stakeholder & Partner Management

  • Serve as the primary liaison with NGOs, knowledge partners, advisors, and other collaborators in the development sector
  • Manage relationships with donors, philanthropists, CSR funders, and international partners
  • Organize and represent Civic Studios at external events, panel discussions, and sector convenings to enhance visibility
  • Build networks and partnerships that expand Civic Studios’ reach in India

Impact Measurement & Reporting

  • Establish project-specific impact indicators and track progress against them
  • Compile impact reports for donors/funders and stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Document and share learnings across projects to improve future initiatives
  • Collaborate with the research team to embed evaluation methods and data collection tools into project design

Fundraising

  • Support the Director in fundraising strategy, donor pitches, and grant applications
  • Conduct background research on prospective funders and create concept notes
  • Track deadlines and manage a fundraising pipeline database

Role Requirement

  • We are looking for someone who has/is:
  • 5+ years of project management experience, preferably in the international development or media-for-social impact space
  • Experience working with donors, philanthropists, and/or CSR funders
  • Strong expertise or demonstrated interest in climate communications will be preferred
  • Solid understanding of impact evaluation methods, research design, and data visualization
  • Proven ability to design and manage project management systems
  • Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proactive, collaborative, and comfortable working with cross-functional teams
  • Passion for media, civic engagement, and building social impact at scale
