Role Description
The Head of Marketing at Civic Studios will lead the development, implementation, and optimisation of marketing initiatives across all platforms, ensuring strong brand presence, audience growth, and high-impact content marketing. This role will drive both traditional and new media strategies, enabling Civic Studios to scale its influence across India and global markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Marketing Strategy & Brand Leadership
- Design and implement the overall marketing strategy for Civic Studios across audience profiling, brand identity, performance marketing, PR, influencer marketing, offline marketing, and new media channels.
- Build and strengthen Civic Studios’ brand identity and ensure consistency across all communication, campaigns, and platforms.
- Partner closely with creative, production, editorial, and leadership teams to align marketing with company objectives and new content pipelines.
- New Media & Digital Innovation
- Lead all social media initiatives including Instagram, YouTube, X, and emerging platforms; strengthen Civic Studios’ digital presence through storytelling and engagement-first strategies.
- Develop and execute new media IPs, creator-led digital formats, and audience-first content aligned with Civic Studios’ mission.
- Drive climate change content initiatives, including youth-led awareness pieces, sustainable lifestyle content, and narrative-driven digital series.
- Oversee partnerships and campaigns under the Climate Fund with creators, enabling creator collaborations, grant-based content initiatives, and impact-led communication.
- Incorporate AI tools, data analytics and real-time insights to enhance efficiency, targeting, and content performance across digital channels.
- Campaign Management & Content Launches
- Manage end-to-end launch campaigns for all Civic Studios’ productions across films, digital shorts, social content, and new media experiments.
- Craft 360° marketing campaigns across ATL, BTL, digital, influencer, PR and community engagement channels.
- Work closely with creative teams to ensure existing content is marketed effectively and new content is developed with market needs and audience behaviours in mind.
- Team Leadership & Agency Management
- Build and mentor the marketing and social media teams; hire, retain and develop talent across strategic and creative verticals.
- Identify, onboard and manage partner agencies for PR, digital, creative, media planning, social listening, and influencer marketing – as and when required.
- Set quarterly and annual KPIs for the team and track progress through data-driven reporting.
- Budgeting, Analytics & Monetization
- Plan and manage monthly, quarterly and annual budgets for the marketing department.
- Drive digital monetization efforts by optimising content performance and developing original ideas and solutions across all digital platforms, including pitching and building partnerships with brands, non-profits, and other strategic collaborators.
- Stay updated on competition, market landscape and global entertainment/impact trends to inform Civic Studios’ positioning.
Role Requirements
- 8 -10 years of experience in Marketing ideally within film, media, digital content, OTT, or related industries.
- Experience in running successful marketing campaigns across digital and social media channels
- Familiarity with the media and entertainment industry in terms of digital content releases, distribution channels, social media creators, and their promotion activities
- Excellent communication abilities (oral and written) with strong attention to detail
- Strong design sensibility in developing creative assets for promotion campaigns
- Data driven approach to setting targets and achieving results, married to creative, fresh innovations to stand out in the crowd
- Knowledge of the digital advertising ecosystem, including hands-on experience with ad networks, programmatic buying, social media advertising, etc.
- Solid Knowledge of tracking performance metrics across marketing channels, analyzing trends, and enforcing insights into strategy and planning of ongoing activities
- Leadership Skills with the ability to set and prioritise goals
- A passion for socially relevant storytelling and purpose-driven communication
