Job Title: Fund Lead – Media Fund
Location: Mumbai
Experience: 5–6 years

Role Overview
Civic Studios is building a Media Fund to facilitate meaningful climate messaging integrated into commercial long-form and short-form mainstream media content. We are looking for a Fund Lead who will be at the centre of this work — someone who is as comfortable reading a script and giving creative notes as they are tracking a project timeline or managing a funder relationship.

This is a deeply creative role wrapped in strong project management. The Fund Lead will work directly with production houses, writers, directors and producing partners to ensure that climate narratives are woven into content authentically and powerfully — not as an add-on, but as an integral part of the story. At the same time, they will manage the full operational workflow of the fund, coordinate with funders and internal teams, and drive each project to closure with rigour and accountability.

The ideal candidate has meaningful experience in the creative or media industry and understands how stories are built. They can read between the lines of a treatment, spot where a climate angle can live naturally within a narrative, and articulate that to a director or writer with confidence and sensitivity. They are fluent in the language of both creative development and stakeholder management — and they find energy in the space where the two meet.

Key Responsibilities
1. Creative Integration & Content Collaboration
This is the most distinctive aspect of the role. The Fund Lead is not simply a project manager — they are a genuine creative partner to the production houses and teams Civic Studios works with.

  • Read and assess scripts, treatments and content submissions with a real creative lens — evaluating narrative structure, character, tone and the authenticity of climate integration within the story.
  • Work closely with production houses, writers and directors to identify where and how climate messaging can be embedded into content in ways that feel organic, earned and dramatically compelling — never forced or didactic.
  • Develop integration briefs and creative guidelines in collaboration with the internal Research and Creative teams — translating impact goals into storytelling language that production partners can actually work with.
  • Provide thoughtful, specific creative feedback to producing partners on scripts and submissions, maintaining a high editorial standard while remaining sensitive to the creative process and the relationships involved.
  • Participate in creative discussions with directors, writers and producers as a credible, informed voice on both the content and the impact objectives of the fund — bridging the two worlds fluently.
  • Stay genuinely curious about climate themes, storytelling trends and the evolving landscape of impact media — bringing that knowledge actively into project conversations.

2. Fund & Workflow Management

  • Own and manage the entire workflow of the Media Fund — from application and onboarding of producing partners to project closure and reporting.
  • Track timelines, deliverables, approvals and ensure all processes run smoothly across the full lifecycle of each funded project.
  • Maintain detailed documentation, communication logs and process checklists to ensure transparency and accountability across all stakeholders.
  • Track project success metrics and create final reports for deliverables and share with all stakeholder

3. Stakeholder Coordination

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external funders, production partners, agencies, external key stakeholders and leadership committee —ensure clarity, sensitivity, professionalism and confidence in all communication.
  • Coordinate with internal teams including Research, Creative, Business, and Legal to move projects toward closure.
  • Keep the leadership committee updated on project status, changes, delays, or approvals.

4. Review, Documentation & Closure

  • Review funding applications and partner submissions; assess creative and impact alignment before onboarding producing partners.
  • Work closely with Business and Legal teams to finalise agreements, documentation and compliance requirements for each project.
  • Drive each project toward final outcomes, ensuring both funder expectations and internal creative standards are met.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5–6 years of experience working at the intersection of content, partnerships or impact — in media, philanthropy or a related field.
  • Excellent communication skills—clear, concise, confident.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to multitask and manage complex workflows.
  • Highly detail-oriented and process-driven.
  • Comfortable working with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proactive attitude with the ability to troubleshoot and push projects forward.

We actively encourage applicants from all backgrounds irrespective of gender, sexuality, caste, class, ideology, and ability, and aim to provide a nourishing workspace for all. All roles at Civic Studios require an interest in civic engagement and participative democracy.
