Channel Description:
Civic Studios runs a Hindi Youtube channel called Pocket Change that creates relatable, comedy content for young Indians with democracy at its heart. We have a slate of police comedies, family dramedies, news shows and sketches that will encourage young people to make democracy a dinner table conversation. We are currently focused on short form fiction formats in the range of 5-8 minutes, and are aimed at 18-35 years old Indians across tier 1 and tier 2 cities.
Role Description:
We are looking for performers who can be the anchor of a new, non-fiction weekly series.
The property will be a HIndi news-based series, where we intend to do a deep dive into a news topic that is trending around the country, and is relevant to everyday citizens. The topic will be broken down and explained in a manner that is easy for any layperson to understand, and engaging enough to make them enjoy the entire video. The video will be peppered with witty commentary and humorous observations related to the topic and related conversations.
The anchor will be the face of the show, where they bring their relatable charm, lively energy, and comic timing to our scripts. The anchor will be a key contributor in developing the personality of the series and building a connection with our young audience.
Role requirements:
- 18-30 years old
- An energetic and affable personality.
- Great diction in Hindi and English language. Any additional language will be an added advantage
- Great communication skills, with ability to deliver lines fast and clearly, and clear distinction of how facts and jokes are delivered.
- High inclination towards acting for the camera.
- Ability to read research material and identify the core messaging; ability to contribute to the script provided by the writer and open to contributing as a co-writer.
- Understanding of contemporary standards of digital journalism, political correctness, pop culture, and humour in India.
- An interest in dissecting and simplifying topics in the news for young Indians.
