Title: Research Associate, Civic Studios
Location: Civic Studios office (Khar, Mumbai, India)

Pay: Compensation commensurate with experience


Role Description
We are looking for a full-time Research Associate to support research efforts at Civic Studios. The Research Associate will assist in design and execute research for various media projects focused on social, civic, and democratic issues. This role involves being a part of the research team, collaborating with the creative team, and building and maintaining relationships with diverse external stakeholders. Specific responsibilities associated with the role are detailed below:


Key Responsibilities

  • Primary & Secondary Research: Undertaking topic based primary and secondary research as relevant to projects and developing end-to-end research briefs as required

  • Tracking & Maximising Social Impact: Tracking impact to understand the effectiveness of the content and ensuring growth in impact and maintaining consistency to impact goals for assigned projects

  • Research communication internally and externally: Work with the relevant Creative Producer to communicate research findings as well as external partners as relevant through well-developed decks, presentations, etc; share knowledge and findings with CS team at large in an on-going capacity

  • Support impact campaigns and outreach: Support the RH and marketing team in creating impact campaigns, external outreach, communication and creation of associated communication material
  • Role Requirement
    We are looking for someone who has/is:

  • 2+ years of working in the research sector
  • A thorough understanding of research methods and their implementation
  • Ability to design and execute audience research and impact evaluations
  • Familiarity with data analysis methods and data visualization
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Passionate about chasing tough questions and doing what it takes to figure-out their answers
  • Prior work experience in the legal field or media is preferred but not mandatory
  • Keen to be part of a fast-paced work environment with a birds-eye’ view to the process of content creation
  • Fluent in spoken English and Hindi

  • Interests

  • A curiosity to understand public institutions like police, judiciary and parliament, and figure out how the democratic processes really work on ground
  • Being up to date with mainstream and independent pop culture, social media trends, and memes
