Channel Description
Civic Studios runs a Hindi digital content channel called Pocket Change that creates relatable, comedy content for young Indians with civic engagement at its heart. We talk about issues around laws, policy, governance and policing that affect young people, in a way that empowers them to make better use of our institutions of democracy. We are currently focused on short form fiction formats in the range of 5-8 minutes, and are aimed at 18-35 years old Indians across tier 1 and tier 2 cities.
Role Description
We are looking for Line Producers who are excited to join the team & drive our Pocket Change productions from inception to release. The responsibilities that come with this role include:
- Taking ownership to ensure projects fit within budget and production constraints, right from script to screen, while working in tandem with the creative producer
- Manage internal and freelance technical talent across production departments (namely but not limited to casting, art, costume, location scouting, direction and camera crew, post-production) in terms of communicating briefs, ensuring deliverables and maintaining timelines
- Contributing in script readings in terms of flagging production considerations and challenges from logistics and budget perspective
- Creating and updating the production breakdown of a project to account for all casting and production requirements
- Driving the production schedule to ensure internal and external deadlines are met across all production stages
- Proactive planning to anticipate potential bottlenecks in work flow, mitigate risks with solutions, and keep all relevant stakeholders informed
- Leveraging and constantly updating network of acting and technical talent across departments, maintaining relations with key collaborators and bartering bulk service deals where applicable
- Develop budgets for each project which can deliver quality product with high efficiencies, and submit reports on estimated vs actual costs to internal team
Role requirements
- 2-5 years of proven work experience in line production for digital fiction content
- Experience of managing inter departmental work flow for video production projects
- Strong crew network in pre- and post- production (casting, costume, art, music, DI, DOP, graphics, directors, editors, etc.)
- A team player who is proactive, solutions oriented, and able to solve problems efficiently to meet project goals, and keep team morale up
- Strong, clear communication & negotiation skills, and experience with coordinating teams to ensure briefs are understood, budget and work schedule are maintained
- Organized and methodical working approach to ensure efficiencies and smooth coordination across departments, and attention to detail maintained across tight timelines
- Excited to use the medium of fiction comedy to drive conversations on social and civic topics, and contribute to growth of a new Youtube channel
- Comfort with MS Office, particularly Excel / Google Sheets
- Must be bilingual (Hindi/English)
